Yes!!

Okay, another late entry, but I'm celebrating. NETTLEFLOWER is now out in trade-sized pb format - finally!

It is the winter of 1046 and on the Marches between England and Wales there is an uneasy peace. Leofric is the young thane of Staneleigh, a holding close to the Welsh border. He is mourning a dead bride, but now finds himself falling for Regan, his childhood friend, who is herself in mourning and intending to take the veil. The attraction is mutual. Dafydd, attached to her household, is a traveling bard, but unknown to Leofric and Regan is also an undercover agent for the Welsh extremists who raid across the border. Dafydd's loyalties become divided—he has found friendships he did not expect, and love, not least for Edwina, a girl in Leofric's household.Welsh raids, the political machinations of Godwin Earl of Wessex, and Leofric's meddling household mean that nothing is straightforward in this tangle of Anglo-Saxon and Welsh intrigue.

Good Grief. It's over a year since I did anything on this blog! Shame on me. Then I was eagerly awaiting the release of War Trail, the fantasy novel I co-wrote with Terri Beckett. Later on in 2008 I had a solo novel released - Argent Dreaming - from Cerridwen Press at www.jasminejade.com. It's a paranormal mystery set in Glastonbury, one of the most evocative places in the UK.
I love this cover design. It's by the same artist who did the covers for Tribute Trail and War Trail, the very talented Croco.
I've got quite a few writing projects on the go at the moment, some of them written under another name as they are not mainstream, and I think I have a log-jam in my brain. But I am doing my damnedest to stick to some kind of writing schedule around the house chores and gardening chores.
One of the things that threw me off-plan was the sudden and totally unexpected illness of a much-loved pet. Bracken, one of the three family dogs, had to be put to sleep following an ultrasound at the vets that discovered a large and inoperable tumour on his spleen. He hadn't reached his seventh birthday, and was one of the most loving, happy dogs I've ever known. The whole family was distraught, especially my grandsons. But we have some wonderful memories of him, and they helped us all come to terms.

Tribute Trail

Ten days to go and TRIBUTE TRAIL, a fantasy novel, will be released by Cerridwen Press. March 27th is the big day. This isn't your average sword and sorcery fest, it has one of my favourite themes - culture-clash! One man, trying to survive in a society and way of life that is almost completely alien to him, except for the concepts of honour, loyalty, and love.

Terri and I have been writing together for years - and now we're branching out into ebooks. Cerridwen Press have been amazing - and their Covers Department has some incredible talent. This isn't the first book we have with them, that was our historical NETTLEFLOWER set in the 11th Century borderlands between England and Wales just before the Norman Invasion of 1066.
